Canon 5DS — Date Night

We had a chance to go out on a date tonight to listen to an old high school friend in concert. Her name is Hilary Scott and she’s an amazing vocalist and musician. You can hear her music over on iTunes — https://itunes.apple.com/us/artist/hilary-scott/id4314993.

These shots were taken using the Canon 35mm f/1.4L and were taken using available light. The ones outside were shot at ISO 100, but inside they were shot with ISOs ranging from 1250 to 4000.

The video was shot handheld at a fairly high ISO, and using the onboard mic.

How is it in low light? It’s decent, but any camera will struggle in low light. It focuses nicely, the noise is controllable, but you lose dynamic range leeway. I’m ok with it though, as I cropped in on all of these images and still had plenty of pixels to burn.
