Pink Ombre for Nadia — Panasonic GX8 and Leica 15mm f/1.7

Photos

Pink and red hair — that’s what Nadia wanted for the holidays. Of course, that gave me an opportunity to take some photos. How could I pass that up?

We waited till darn near the last minute of the holiday vacation, but our stylist was able to get us in at the last minute. We were her last appointment on New Years Eve — 2:45 p.m.

I didn’t want to get in the way and be a bother — I wanted to be able to have fast face detection / AF, good quality, fairly wide, and great in low light. So, I picked the perfect tool for the job — the Panasonic GX8 and the Leica 15mm f/1.7.

All of these photos were shot at f/1.7 using the available light of the salon and some window light — although the sun was down by the end of the appointment. I processed them using Lightroom for some basic tonal and white balance corrections, ran them through Alien Skin Exposure using a toned down Kodak Gold preset, and then used Athentech’s Perfectly Clear to finish them off.

Moments like this is why I really enjoy photography! It’s something that our daughter will be able to refer to later, friends and family like to see our daughter grow up, and it gave me something to do while waiting for her hair color to set.
