Why you need 8K – a real world example (shot on a Canon EOS R5)

I was helping my karate instructor film a tutorial for his students, but didn’t have a steady cam, and wanted to zoom in close to the action. Using a15-35mm f/2.8 lens, I zoomed all the way out, shot at f/2.8, and digitally cropped, panned, and zoomed the image. Is it the best effect ever? No, but it does illustrate a real world application for shooting in 8K.
